you know its a good workout when...

The other day Tony and I where talking about my half marathon goal; he had brought up a guy (I wish I remembered his name, Jeremy something I think) he told me that this guy had made a theory that running as fast as you can and walking until you had the stamina to start running again is the same as keeping up a pace. I put that to the test today. I ran 4 miles in 50 minutes and even then I wasn't running as fast as I could either. But overall this is about the same time. I kind of feel like I have a fear of running on the treadmill..whenever my legs feel the least bit off, I instantly start slowing down my pace or even start walking when I can run longer. I went longer than yesterday, I hit the 4 mile marker. After my run I did a quick workout with Tony because he graciously offered. He showed me some new ab workouts. When he does the abs and likes to add in other muscle groups and I plan on using them sometime in the future. Im not 100 percent sure the ACTUAL names of the workout but I will name them how I can so you can get an idea of what I did. SO check it out bellow VVVV

First I was in the plank position and Tony handed me the weighted cable. While in the plank position I kept my abs tight and pulled the cable towards my naval. Then we wrapped the cable around my ankle I did a couple different moves, first was the "spiderman climb" bringing my knee around the side of my body, then I moved my leg in a "bicep curl" movement and wow we learned that I need to work on my hamstrings more; they started to cramp so bad. We also tried the donkey kick movement but I kind of struggled with that due to the fact that I was still in the plank position. We then moved over to the free weight area. With the Hexagon bar he put 25 lbs weight on only one side and I had to hold it up and keep it straight. We also did that with the bar doing bench press with 10 lbs weights on one side of it. Having to keep my core tight was hard, so I'm sure i will feel it tomorrow. Finally we went over to TRX and did a few rows with each arm. Proving I need to work on my upper strength lol

Needless to say I honestly looked like I took a shower my hair was soaked and my shirt was dripping. I LOVED IT. Half Marathon or not I probably will start running for an hour before doing strength workouts. I feel alive! lol
